1984 - Present Head, Preservation Services, University of Toronto Libraries

Project Director, Early Canadiana Online. This was a special initiative (1997-1999) between the University of Toronto Libraries, the Canadian Institute for Historical Microreproductions, the National Library of Canada, and Laval University. Co-ordinated staff, several committees and consultants to develop full text searchable bilingual database of 3200 early Canadiana titles. Project included a usage and economic study. Scanning was done from microfiche, OCR run and multitext search engine applied (See: www.canadiana.org)

Responsible for developing policy, setting up procedures and establishing preservation practices across the Library system

Implement training programmes for staff and library users in preservation related areas

Manage and supervise staff of 19 in Reprographics and Binding

Responsible for disaster planning, response and training library wide

Work on local, national and international preservation issues

Put together various grant proposals to raise funds for preservation

Supervise University of Toronto Back in Print Project to supply digitised books to Japan
